Group B Finals of The Masked Singer: Who Will Survive the Intense Competition?
The pressure is on for the contestants of The Masked Singer, particularly for Group B, as the stakes are higher than ever. With the nostalgic theme of the Sixties in play, only one performer will emerge victorious and secure their spot in the Quarterfinals. Tonight features yet another thrilling Double-Elimination round, where the tension and excitement are palpable as these talented contestants give it their all to impress the judges and the audience.
This evening promises to be the toughest yet as Bluebell, Goo, and Wasp showcase their vocal abilities in a bid for survival. After the shock eliminations of Laverne Cox and Andy Richter in the preceding weeks, the competition has narrowed significantly. All three contestants have demonstrated that they are vocal powerhouses, possessing the talent and charisma needed to take their performances to the next level and potentially win the entire competition.

For one of these talented performers, the only hope—aside from winning tonight—is that the Ding-Dong-Hold-It-On Bell is back in play for Group B Finals, especially since it was not used during Group A’s performance. The question remains: Will the panel opt to use it tonight, or will they save it for the highly anticipated Group C Finals in three weeks?
Regardless of the outcome, one contestant will be heading home tonight, and it’s a matter of determining who that will be and how many will face elimination. Before the big reveals, we are treated to some of the most exceptional performances in the history of the show. If we had been wearing masks while watching, they would surely have been blown away by the talent on display tonight!
Let’s dive right into the performances of this week’s masks. And don’t worry, before we reveal the shocking unmasking(s), we’ll take you through the wild (and sometimes accurate) guesses made by our illustrious panel of Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora first. We do this because we love … to keep you on your toes.

Exciting Highlights from Group B Finals
(“Fun, Fun, Fun,” The Beach Boys) Considering the incredible potential of these three performers, we found ourselves slightly underwhelmed by the energy level of this opening number. Although the song celebrates having a good time (at least until “Daddy takes the T-Bird away”), all three contestants showed solid vocal skills and showcased an equal balance, with Wasp initially seeming the weakest but ultimately nailing that high note at the end. They were good, but this performance fell short of greatness.

Group B Finals: 60s Night Celebration
Showcase of Goo’s Performance
(“House of the Rising Sun,” The Animals) Goo transformed this performance into a captivating rock concert experience, showcasing a level of intensity and energy rarely seen on this show. He captivated the audience, the panel, and viewers at home as he started on a low note and then soared into an incredible chorus, hitting impressive high notes and wailing like a soul singer who has just discovered his purpose. This performance was on a whole new level—simply extraordinary!
Clues & Guesses: The latest set of clues revealed Goo discussing his determination to achieve his goals within a year and his journey towards self-belief. Throughout his performance, he held gold coins, a conductor’s baton, and even moved a rook chess piece, hinting at his multifaceted talents and ambitions.
We also noticed sheet music on the music stand, alongside the conductor’s baton, a bag of gold coins, and a blue rotary phone that he answered while mentioning he received a “rare call” that propelled him on his “rise.” These visual clues added layers to his persona, suggesting a rich backstory.
His on-stage clue, labeled “Innovations of the ’60s,” was a JELL-O, containing a large whistle that prompted Goo to sing, “O say can you see,” before adding, “That has a special meaning to me in a few ways,” hinting at deeper connections behind his performance.
In his second week’s clue package, Goo visited a theme park, sharing glimpses of his fiancée who helped lift him out of a “grumpy” phase by encouraging him to dance. Visual clues included a church robe with a cross, a golden ticket, and a bowl of fried ice cream, possibly an empanada, adding whimsy and personal touch to his story.
His toy clue resembled a miniature Malibu Barbie Dream House. “This right here is a dream home,” Goo explained, “which is quite fitting for Robin, because I know he’s a fan,” highlighting his clever references and humor.
Right off the bat, we noticed Goo’s impressive stature, with shoulders that matched Nick Cannon’s 6’0″ frame. This aligns with his Masked Ambassador, Keenan Allen (aka Season 9’s towering Gargoyle), who indicated this performance would reveal a softer side of Goo.
The mask dropped a soccer hint immediately while showcasing a fishing tackle box, discussing his desire to “tackle everything” that came his way growing up. He shared how he was sensitive during his school years, often brought to tears by challenging days, but found inspiration when his brother began playing guitar, marking a pivotal moment in his life.
We saw a train pulling a car filled with disco balls, alongside a French horn, as he spoke about becoming a “music nerd” involved in an a cappella group and music lab, even winning accolades for his dedication. On stage, we witnessed music cleats, with Goo adding, “For me, you might want to focus on the sole of the shoes,” showcasing his playful spirit.
Rita guessed 2024 NBA All-Star game player Anthony Hamilton for Goo, citing his diverse career trajectory, while Ken took a salute to the towering 6’4″ Brian McKnight (aka his guess). He linked the gold coins to gold records, noting McKnight’s numerous performances of the national anthem.
Robin attempted to outguess Jenny by referencing a soul version of the national anthem for ESPN, with the gold coins symbolizing Leon Bridges’ third studio album, Gold-Diggers Sound, showing how intricate and thoughtful the clues can be.
The clues, combined with social media speculation, are converging on one strong guess: Los Angeles Rams 2023 rookie Kobie Turner. His high school history included stints in a cappella groups, and this week’s conductor baton clue aligns with his nickname, “The Conductor,” making the connection even more compelling, especially considering he is engaged to Alissa Villanueva.
Jenny picked up on the rook to rookie word during the package, which may refer to his rookie accolades, including leading all rookies in sacks and ranking third for Rookie of the Year while making the PFWA NFL All-Rookie Team. These layered clues are increasingly intriguing!

Spotlight on Bluebell’s Performance
(“Do You Love Me,” The Contours) Bluebell opted for a track that didn’t allow her to showcase her vocal prowess to its fullest extent. While she possesses an incredible voice and impressive stage presence, her song choice did not serve her well in this crucial moment where she needed to shine and prove her worth to avoid elimination. Although she has raw talent, this performance did not highlight her capabilities effectively.
Clues & Guesses: Bluebell shared her journey from a high point to a significant drop in her career, expressing feelings of being unloved and struggling with writer’s block for years until motherhood reignited her creativity and passion.
Visual clues included a sugar container, her tearing a carnival ticket in half, and an image of white lilies. Her ’60s toy was an Easy-Bake Oven, which Bluebell humorously used to prepare a Vegemite sandwich, regarded as a “delicacy” from her homeland.
In her previous clue package, she discussed her struggles, revealing how everything went awry after her big break. The challenges she faced were so substantial that she found it difficult to make ends meet until she pivoted her career and embraced a different talent, which ultimately led to her resurgence.
Bluebell detailed how she wrote lists of her life aspirations, maintaining an unwavering belief that she could achieve her dreams. Within the clue package, she showcased her writing in a journal, an image of a dragon, a “sun”-flower, and a torn Polaroid, all symbolizing her journey.
On stage, her toy clue was an astronaut, with Bluebell stating, “I have been able to take you out of this world, ever since my arrival,” hinting at her aspirations and larger-than-life persona. And was that a trace of an accent we heard when she spoke?
From the outset, Bluebell was engaging warmly with Nick, which can often be a clue in itself. Her Masked Ambassador is Kelly Osbourne (aka Season 2’s Ladybug), who shared that her friend Bluebell is well aware of “tabloid fodder.” The two have even made headlines together.
Kelly noted Bluebell’s overnight success, while Bluebell examined a TV script titled “Episode 1204: Bluebell of the Ball,” but with that fame came relentless gossip. Bluebell expressed that as her popularity soared, her rumored relationships with rock stars, billionaires, and royals overshadowed her career. However, she found “real love” only recently, highlighting her journey through the highs and lows of fame.
Visual clues included Bluebell rocking out on a blue guitar adorned with a phoenix sticker and ripped blue jeans, which Kelly added “cargo pants” and “crop tops” to after Bluebell mentioned, “I’m kind of having a moment.” That was her inspiration for participating in this show. Her on-stage clue was a pair of blinged-out roller blades, with Bluebell explaining, “I try to roll with the situation, but I always rock it out,” showcasing her fun attitude.
Ken picked up on the Vegemite clue, leading him to guess Rose Byrne, a mother, while Rita shifted the sugar jar clue to link it to British icon Kylie Minogue from the Australian soap Neighbours. However, Jenny felt Rita’s guess was a stretch, opting instead for Naomi Watts.
