In the latest Pollstar report for 2024, legendary artists Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, and Metallica have secured their spots among the top 10 touring acts globally. This ranking highlights their enduring popularity and the immense draw of live music in today’s entertainment landscape.
Bruce Springsteen and his iconic E Street Band emerged as rock’s top earners, securing the No. 5 position with a remarkable gross of $251 million from 44 electrifying performances. This data, meticulously compiled by Pollstar, reflects all worldwide shows conducted from November 16, 2023, to November 13, 2024. With an average ticket price of $150.69, Springsteen consistently filled venues with about 37,900 attendees per night, generating an impressive $5.7 million nightly and selling a total of 1.667 million tickets.
Just behind Springsteen, The Rolling Stones claimed the No. 6 spot with a total gross of $235 million in ticket sales. Though they performed less than half the number of shows compared to Springsteen, with only 20 concerts on their 2024 Hackney Diamonds Tour (18 counted by Pollstar), their average ticket price soared to $277.28. Mick Jagger and his legendary band averaged about 47,100 attendees and an astounding $13 million per night, ultimately selling 847,800 tickets. These figures also established them as the top touring act in North America for the year.
Ranked No. 9 among the world’s top touring artists, Metallica grossed a formidable $179 million over 24 shows. Despite having the lowest average ticket price among these rock titans at $119.64, Metallica enjoyed significantly higher attendance rates, averaging 62,512 tickets sold per performance, totaling 1.5 million tickets. They averaged $7.479 million per show, placing them strategically between The Stones and Springsteen in terms of gross earnings.

The Most Successful Global Touring Act of 2024 Revealed
While the figures for Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, and Metallica are impressive, they are overshadowed by the astounding success of the highest-grossing global touring act of 2024. No one familiar with the concert industry would be surprised that this title belongs to Taylor Swift, whose groundbreaking Eras Tour raked in a staggering $1.043 billion across 80 shows, solidifying its status as the highest-grossing tour in music history. The pop icon averaged 65,126 tickets sold per show and generated around $13 million per performance, with ticket prices averaging $200.27. Following her was Coldplay, who secured a distant second place with a gross of $421 million, averaging 60,990 tickets sold across 54 shows.
