Diddy is missing some important milestones for his youngsters as his legal troubles mount — and this week he’ll be MIA for the newest a single, involving his 17-year-old daughter Chance.

Sources with direct know-how inform TMZ … Chance is set to place on her cap and gown Thursday for her graduation from Sierra Canyon School right here in the L.A. region — and when we’re told other household members are flying in for the ceremony, her dad will not be present.

We’re told Diddy’s currently communicated this news to the household, though he did not supply any precise purpose for his absence — but it cannot be all that shocking to them.

We’re told the household suspects it has to do with all of his legal difficulties these days, and his wish to lay low. Makes sense … if Diddy showed, it could simply turn into a spectacle that would steal Chance’s thunder.

Now, in terms of who specifically will be in attendance for Chance’s graduation … our sources say some of her half-siblings are supposed to be there, as are some of Kim Porter‘s household also. Diddy shares Chance with Sarah Chapman.

BTW, Chance is not the only kid he has in higher college proper now — Jessie and D’Lila, the twins he had with Kim, are juniors who went to prom a couple weeks ago … an occasion Diddy also missed, as he remains in Miami.
