As we approach the festive weekend before Christmas, many of us find ourselves revisiting our cherished holiday films. Just last night, I had the pleasure of attending a stunning 4K re-release of the original Black Christmas here in vibrant Montreal. There’s an undeniable warmth and comfort in returning to our beloved classics, whether they are the timeless holiday films we grew up with or modern favorites like Die Hard, which, against all odds, has secured its place as a holiday staple in the hearts of many over the years.
The world of Christmas cinema is vast and varied, boasting an impressive array of films. From iconic classics such as It’s A Wonderful Life and the numerous adaptations of A Christmas Carol—I personally favor the Alistair Sim rendition—to contemporary favorites like Love Actually, which seems to fill the airwaves this time of year, there’s something for everyone. Each film brings its unique charm and nostalgia, making the holiday season even more special.
With such an extensive selection of options, our goal is to determine what truly stands out as the greatest Christmas movie ever made. Recently, our Live Stream host, Kier Gomes, delved into this intriguing topic during a discussion last Friday (check out the embedded video below). Now, we’re eager to hear your perspective! What do you consider to be the best Christmas movie of all time? Make your voice heard by participating in our poll!
