Rita Ora, Robin Thicke & Mario (S12 Wasp)
(?Get Lucky,? Daft Punk) Poor Robin struggled to find his voice during his opening lines, resorting to multiple vocal runs to compete with the depth and power of Rita Ora’s stunning opening. Mario joined in, but his lighter tone faced challenges as well. Thankfully, their overall performance was filled with the energy and excitement we crave as we embark on another wild ride through the world of The Masked Singer!
GROUP A
Honey Pot
(?Sexyback,? Justin Timberlake) Honey Pot is undoubtedly an entertainer, albeit not the strongest vocalist. He managed to carry a tune and clearly knew the song, but he opted for a playful and humorous approach that worked perfectly. His high-energy comedic flair more than compensated for any vocal shortcomings, turning his performance into a delightful spectacle!
Clues & Guesses: In his initial clue package, Honey Pot revealed a stout physique reminiscent of his costume, playfully stating that “you catch more flies with honey but you can catch even more honeys being.” This intriguing hint set the stage for what was to come.
He then employed a game show format to share more about himself, claiming to be one of the “founding fathers of modern-day comedy,” boasting over $2 billion in box office sales. The clues included a Lady Justice statue and a moment of him trimming a wig, showcasing his comedic persona that undoubtedly resonates with audiences.
Jenny speculated whether the references to “founding father” and the statue pointed to Judge Harvey, the star of Family Feud. Meanwhile, Ken shifted the focus slightly toward the Original Kings of Comedy, suggesting Cedric the Entertainer, known for his iconic roles in some of the greatest comedy films of all time.
Rita, on the other hand, considered Keegan-Michael Key, who was featured in The Lion King, while Robin echoed Ken’s guess, stating that it’s the best guess they had based on the clues, body type, and comedic style. It’s a strong contender, indeed!

Ant
(?Just Give Me a Reason,? P!nk) Ant made a grand entrance with a powerful performance that left a lasting impact. This song requires a deep emotional connection, showcasing vocal strength and range, and Ant did not disappoint. Her voice, though perhaps slightly out of practice, resonated with incredible power and depth. This performance positions her as a serious contender in this competitive season.
Clues & Guesses: Ant?s clue package centered around her mission to demonstrate that no one should feel broken or unworthy of love. She revealed a “deep, dark secret” she has carried throughout her career, hinting that “powerful people tried to erase me,” adding layers to her compelling narrative.
She shared that these powerful figures attempted to diminish her spirit, but she chose resilience, stating she is a “warrior” rather than someone who remains broken. Her journey towards change was illustrated with images of a dollhouse featuring a candelabra, a red “X” on a tree, and a wizard hat, all hinting at her struggles and triumphs.
Upon seeing her costume, she emotionally declared, “I will do you justice.” On stage, she further expressed, “I?m here tonight for all the survivors. I see you. Anyone who has had to endure, I see you and support you. Together, no one will ever stomp us out.” This powerful declaration resonated with the audience.
Rita connected Ant?s vulnerability and message to Lea Michele, referencing Michele?s role as Dorothy in ?The Legend of Oz? and her public mourning for Cory Monteith, relating it to the clues involving a witch and wizard. Robin speculated whether this episode might finally feature Lindsay Lohan as a contestant.
Jenny also saw a powerhouse woman in Ant, considering her guess of Kesha due to her challenging past, but she ultimately felt that Ashanti, who starred in the Muppets rendition of Oz, might be a better fit based on the clues.

Paparazzo
(?The Door,? Teddy Swims) Paparazzo faced his fears as he took to the stage for the first time, and what a stunning performance it was! His vocal delivery was filled with heart and grit, leaving us captivated. Although we initially felt apprehensive about the song’s intensity, Paparazzo showcased his remarkable ability to connect emotionally through his singing. Despite his previous stage fright, his voice is undeniably a gift.
Clues & Guesses: Paparazzo has been in the limelight since childhood, suggesting a background as a child star. He hinted at taking “America’s Sweetheart” to prom, solidifying this theory. Throughout his career, he has worked with iconic names like Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, and Chris Farley, which adds to the intrigue of his clues.
Though he has dabbled in many areas, he admitted this was his first time singing publicly. His clues included a black labrador, a shot of him beside a racecar, and a “Home Sweet Home” rug. On stage, he teased he might spill the tea on another friend, Steve Martin, if he sticks around long enough.
Rita’s guess pointed towards Taron Egerton, who portrayed Elton John in a film, while Robin speculated Paparazzo might be a chameleonic actor, suggesting Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who starred in the dog movie Beethoven. For the first time this season, Ken expressed confidence in his guess, stating he knew exactly who it is, which raised eyebrows given his previous guesses?he speculated Kieran Culkin, linking him to Steve Martin via Father of the Bride.

Fuzzy Peas
(?La Bamba,? Ritchie Valens) Fuzzy Peas burst onto the stage with the same comedic energy as Honey Pot, but surprised us all with a surprisingly strong vocal performance. He did lose his breath a bit in the opening lines, but regained his composure as he hit the main notes, showcasing impressive vocal control and range. While he may not be the best singer we’ve seen, his performance was surprisingly solid on a song that doesn?t demand too much from the vocalist.
Clues & Guesses: As a third-generation performer, Fuzzy Peas maintained a Hispanic accent throughout his performance, which could be genuine or fabricated, as we’ve seen accents faked before. His clue package included a rubber chicken in a vegetable stand, an Xbox controller, and a Golden Globe, while he mentioned securing a gold record.
He spoke about his family fighting for their beliefs, sharing how his mother’s passion helped him achieve his dreams. He stated that he has become known for his hits, some of which have even been Grammy-nominated, leading us to speculate if he?s a comedian with nominations for comedy albums.
