Jordan Fish’s Spiritbox Album: The Real Story Unveiled

Fans have been eagerly wondering about the collaboration between Jordan Fish and Spiritbox concerning their highly anticipated new album. This curiosity peaked when guitarist Mike Stringer shared an intriguing photo on his Instagram Stories back in January, showcasing the former Bring Me the Horizon keyboardist behind a mixing desk. The image sparked excitement among fans, suggesting that Fish, who recently parted ways with BMTH, might be involved in Spiritbox’s upcoming project.

The photo was paired with tags for both Fish and vocalist Courtney LaPlante, leading to rampant speculation about a potential collaboration on their forthcoming album. Fans couldn’t help but buzz with excitement at the thought of Fish contributing to the new music.

However, during a recent Q&A session on the X social media platform, LaPlante clarified that Fish did not produce the new Tsunami Sea album, contradicting fan assumptions. Furthermore, she stated that no songs that Fish had worked on would be included in their upcoming release.

This revelation begs the question: what really transpired between Fish and Spiritbox?

Clarifying the Collaboration: What Spiritbox Shared About Jordan Fish

In her chat with fans on X, LaPlante addressed the misunderstanding surrounding Fish’s involvement in their new album. However, the story unfolds further than just a simple miscommunication. It turns out that Stringer’s social media post may have underestimated not only the public’s reaction but also the stature of their talented friend.

During a recent appearance on The Zach Sang Show, the musical duo discussed their casual writing session with Fish, emphasizing that it was merely an informal gathering without any intention of producing material for their album. LaPlante humorously remarked, “Michael did fake Jordan Fish propaganda by accident.” She expressed their embarrassment, noting that Fish’s fame could easily overshadow their creative intentions.

“We were really awkward about it since Jordan is such a cool, talented person that you sometimes forget he’s a well-known figure,” LaPlante explained. “We had a songwriting session and then Michael posted a picture saying, ‘Hanging with Jordan!’”

Stringer added that he often shares moments from his creative process on social media, not considering the potential implications. “I thought it was a casual moment with my friend Jordan while we were making music. I just snapped a quick story,” he said, referring to the photo that ignited the speculation. “A few hours later, the rumor mill started with people saying, ‘Jordan Fish is in the studio with Spiritbox!’”

LaPlante reminded Stringer of Fish’s celebrity status and the excitement it would stir up among fans. “As we drove home with Jordan in the car, I apologized for the confusion,” she recounted. “He was incredibly gracious about it, saying, ‘It’s alright.’ But the next morning, we woke up to an overwhelming response.”

Future Collaborations: Will Spiritbox and Jordan Fish Work Together?

Stringer expressed his enthusiasm for the prospect of collaborating with Fish in the future, calling him “incredibly talented.” He confirmed that their initial writing session didn’t lead to further collaboration due to conflicting schedules and commitments. “After our sessions, we went on tour, and he was busy with other projects,” Stringer explained.

LaPlante shared her appreciation for the time spent with Fish, stating, “I learned so much from Jordan during those three days. It was fascinating to see his production techniques; he’s truly brilliant.” She humorously reminded Stringer of the accidental “Jordan propaganda” he posted.

“I hope we can collaborate someday, and maybe next time I’ll refrain from posting his picture in the studio,” Stringer concluded, hinting at future creative possibilities.

Since his departure from Bring Me the Horizon, Fish has remained active as a producer and songwriter, collaborating with notable artists such as House of Protection, Poppy, Busted, and Architects.

In the meantime, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Spiritbox’s Tsunami Sea, set to drop on March 7.
