Brazilian DJ and producer Alok is set to energize the stunning Amazon rainforest with an extraordinary free concert anticipated to attract an impressive audience of 120,000 attendees. This unique event promises to be a vibrant celebration of music and environmental awareness, drawing attention to the pressing issues facing our planet.

The concert, which is part of Alok’s Áurea Tour, is brought to life by Banco do Brasil and supported by esteemed sponsors including the Government of Pará, Estrella Galicia, Vale, and Vivo. Scheduled for Saturday, November 23, this remarkable occasion will be livestreamed worldwide, coinciding with a significant milestone: the one-year countdown to the pivotal international climate summit, COP30. Set against the backdrop of the magnificent Mangueirão Olympic Stadium in Belém, Pará, on the outskirts of the Amazon jungle, this event serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and hope for the future of our planet.

“We need to make COP pop,” Alok expressed in an interview with Billboard Español, emphasizing his goal to elevate the Conference of the Parties (COP) — the United Nations Climate Change Conference — to a more mainstream platform, making it accessible and engaging for the general public. By infusing entertainment into critical dialogues, he aims to inspire widespread participation and awareness.

“It is absolutely crucial that the population grasps the significance of COP30, which is poised to be the most consequential one in history,” Alok stated. He highlighted the urgency of the situation, noting, “We are nearing the point of no return. Just this year, Brazil has lost an area equivalent to 130 cities the size of São Paulo — home to 11.5 million people — due to deforestation. The forest is not capable of recovering on its own. It’s essential for people to realize that Brazil has the potential to lead in sustainable growth and can inspire others to follow suit. The population must hold our leaders accountable and advocate for genuine change.”

This initiative seeks to connect high-level climate negotiations with the everyday understanding and engagement of the public regarding critical environmental issues. By bridging this gap, Alok hopes to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and active participation among attendees and viewers alike.

Among the talented performers joining Alok are local artists such as Joelma, Gaby Amarantos, Zaynara, Viviane Batidão, and Pinduca. “Participating in the Future Is Ancestral project enables us to connect contemporary platforms with our ancient voices,” remarked Célia Xakriabá, an indigenous educator and activist from the Xakriabá people of Brazil. “For over five centuries, our voices have often been silenced, but today, our presence on such platforms, alongside the lush greenery of forests and the resilience of our cultures, communicates crucial messages. Entertainment plays a distinct role in conveying our message, even to those who may hesitate to support our causes. If humanity seeks to endure, it must align with the perspectives of indigenous peoples, as our struggle is for the survival of everyone’s future.”

The fusion of diverse cultures at the concert will be enhanced by a state-of-the-art, pyramid-like stage design, featuring over 100 tons of equipment, a 360-degree rotating platform, and more than 2,000 LED panels to create an unforgettable, immersive experience for attendees and viewers alike.
