Mayfair Witches Season 2: Potential Interview with the Vampire Crossover

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Mayfair Witches season 2 onward and Interview with the Vampire season 3 onward.

Mayfair Witches star Tongayi Chirisa has shared intriguing insights about how the storyline for his character in season 2 may create exciting opportunities for a crossover with Interview With The Vampire. Drawing from the acclaimed Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy by Anne Rice, Chirisa portrays Ciprien Grieve, a member of the enigmatic Talamasca order. This organization, which operates within the same supernatural universe as Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, is dedicated to studying and concealing the existence of paranormal activities. The Talamasca’s presence was also subtly integrated into Interview With The Vampire season 2, hinting at interconnected narratives.

In an interview with Screen Rant ahead of the highly anticipated January 12 premiere of Mayfair Witches season 2, Chirisa was prompted to discuss whether he envisioned any specific character from Interview With The Vampire crossing paths with his own. He elaborated that, given his role within the Talamasca, it would be quite fitting for Ciprien to encounter various supernatural entities. Notably, he revealed that season 2 will unveil deeper secrets of the Talamasca that his character will begin to uncover. Chirisa stated:

I think for Sip, encountering the supernatural is part of the job. With the developments in season 2, Sip was a certain level of Talamasca agent until events unfold, granting him access to more profound secrets of the order.

In season 2, there are remarkable advancements in his role, which are incredibly exciting.

Chirisa further explained that significant events from Interview With The Vampire will be referenced directly in Mayfair Witches season 2, suggesting that the season finale will expand his character’s world in unexpected ways. While he remains uncertain about the specifics, he hinted that one of Ciprien’s forthcoming missions could involve interactions with vampires. Here are his thoughts:

Without revealing too much, many surprises await in the season finale that will broaden Sip’s world in ways he couldn’t have anticipated. Events from Interview with the Vampire will be acknowledged in Mayfair Witches, with possibilities that Sip’s next mission will require him to confront vampire-related issues — just a thought. I can’t say for sure, but the signs seem to point in that direction.

Exploring the Potential for a Romance Between Key Characters

Fans familiar with Anne Rice’s literary works know that the narratives of her series are poised to intersect, ultimately leading to significant crossovers involving central characters from both stories. The established presence of the Talamasca in both series provides a solid foundation for the expanding AMC Immortal Universe franchise. In the later books by Rice, we even witness an unexpected romantic connection between Alexandra Daddario’s Rowan and Sam Reid’s Lestat, which could be hinted at in future adaptations.

With two shows currently airing in AMC’s Immortal Universe and a third in development, here’s how they connect and can potentially cross over.

Nonetheless, if AMC adheres closely to Rice’s literary narratives in the upcoming seasons, they will still have to traverse a significant narrative landscape before Rowan even contemplates seeking out Lestat. Given that Interview With The Vampire season 2 has revealed Daniel’s explosive tell-all publication, and season 3 is set to showcase Lestat’s ascent as a rock singer, it becomes increasingly clear why Chirisa might be hinting at these developments.

Timing Matters: Why a Meeting Between Rowan and Lestat Is Premature

Lasher cupping Rowan's face in Mayfair Witches

While the idea of introducing Reid’s Lestat or Jacob Anderson’s Louis into the latest season of Mayfair Witches is undeniably thrilling, it is essential to recognize that such a scenario might be premature. Rowan Mayfair must first address the complexities surrounding the reborn Lasher, and characters from AMC’s sister show have their own intricate storylines to navigate before a seamless crossover can be realistically achieved.

AMC seems to be strategically laying the groundwork for a future intersection of the Mayfairs and vampires, with the Talamasca likely playing a pivotal role in these plans. Whether the narrative arc will ultimately lead to a romantic development between Rowan and Lestat remains uncertain, yet there are numerous captivating possibilities for characters from both The Mayfair Witches and Interview With The Vampire to converge in forthcoming seasons.
