Pamela Hayden is sharing her heartfelt journey and reasons behind her departure from the iconic animated series The Simpsons, a show that has entertained millions for over three decades.

The talented 70-year-old actress has been the voice of Millhouse, one of Bart Simpson’s closest friends, for an impressive 35 years. In addition to Millhouse, she has brought to life a variety of memorable characters, including Jimbo Jones, Rod Flanders (Ned Flanders’ son), Sarah Wiggum (Chief Wiggum’s wife), and Janey Powell, a friend of Lisa Simpson. Her dynamic range has contributed significantly to the show’s success.

Her final appearance will be featured in tonight’s episode, titled “Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes,” airing on November 24.

“How many actors can proudly claim they’ve dedicated 35 uninterrupted years to one show?” she expressed to Variety. “That accomplishment alone is remarkable. However, it has come time for me to focus on other creative passions, such as filmmaking. Making this decision wasn’t easy, but I believe it is the correct choice for my future.”

“This experience is unlike anything else I’ve ever been part of,” Pamela elaborated. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity within a show that has truly changed the landscape of animation. As an actor, I’ve learned to embrace risks, and that’s the essence of who I am. I thrive on exploring new avenues. I believe in experimenting and seeing what resonates.”

On the horizon for Pamela is her upcoming documentary titled Jailhouse to Millhouse, which delves into her fascinating upbringing and personal experiences. This documentary is currently making waves on the festival circuit, showcasing her storytelling talents.

Additionally, she has co-written a book and lyrics for a musical that she has been passionately developing.

“I’m eager to see that project come to life, but to be honest, the state of theater post-COVID has been challenging,” she disclosed. “I’ve faced hurdles in getting the show staged in New York. It’s a waiting game, and I’m hopeful for the future.”
