Simone Biles’ Potential Absence from the 2028 Olympics
This incredible athlete may have achieved her final Olympic performance.
Simone Biles, celebrated for her remarkable comeback at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she captured four medals after facing challenges with vertigo during the 2021 Tokyo Games, recently expressed her sentiments regarding a potential return to the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
“Because I’ve accomplished so much,” she stated in an interview with Sports Illustrated published on January 2, “there’s almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again and for what? I’m at a point in my career where I’m humble enough to know when to be done.”
The 27-year-old gymnast, who entered into matrimony with Chicago Bears player Jonathan Owens in 2023, emphasized the need to consider other aspects of her life as well.
“If you go back, you’ll be greedy,” she elaborated. “Those are the consequences. But that’s also your decision to decide. What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you’re younger, it’s like prom, college. Now it’s like, starting a family, being away from my husband. What’s really worth it?”
