She claims that someone impersonating her dropped John off at the hospital. Moreover, she has submitted three formal requests for his medical records but has yet to receive any response.

In addition to her requests for medical records, Shannon is also seeking summaries from the LAPD and Adult Protective Services related to their investigations into her previous abuse allegations involving John Amos, which indicates the gravity of her concerns.

He stated that John specifically requested to be taken to Centinela Hospital because he trusted its medical staff. “Let me be clear and transparent. There has been no physical, financial, emotional, or psychological elder abuse or neglect committed against my father by me, Gene Brummett, or Belinda Foster,” K.C. asserted. “This has been thoroughly documented by an independent investigation conducted by Homeland Security Services, Inc, Adult Protective Services, and various law enforcement agencies. The truth is that he passed away from natural causes at the age of 84. Stop making this into something it’s not.”

In his defense, Kelly has also hired a defense investigator to carry out a comprehensive two-year investigation into financial discrepancies, including missing funds and stolen personal belongings from his father’s properties across Colorado, Memphis, New Jersey, and Los Angeles. Ultimately, the investigator, Kevin Faler, confirmed that all charges against Kelly Christopher in New Jersey have been dismissed, which adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing family disputes.

“The current allegations regarding foul play and elder abuse are frivolous,” Kevin Faler stated. “John Amos was content working and spending quality time with [K.C., Gene, and Belinda], engaging in writing, producing, and praying together as a family and as a cohesive team. John passed away from natural causes at the age of 84 years. There was absolutely no foul play involved.”

Additionally, Faler has cleared John Amos’ long-time manager, Belinda Foster, of any wrongdoing, further complicating the narrative around the family’s claims. “John conveyed to me that Belinda was more like a daughter to him than his own biological daughter,” the investigator told PEOPLE, showcasing the close relationship between the actor and his manager.

Shannon Amos’ concerns about her father’s well-being surfaced over a year prior when she claimed that he was a victim of elder abuse and financial exploitation, alleging that he had been hospitalized in critical condition. These allegations were publicly disclosed through a GoFundMe campaign, where she stated that John had reached out to her from a hospital in Memphis, though she did not specify who was allegedly responsible for the abuse. One of her claims included that a caregiver was involved in the mistreatment. However, John Amos later publicly denied his daughter’s allegations in a video recorded from his hospital bed. In this video, he expressed confusion about the GoFundMe campaign and indicated that if anyone were to harm him, it would likely be Shannon. “She would be the primary suspect — if you would,” John stated. “I don’t know if that’s the right term to use or not. But she’s the one that I would attribute my elderly abuse to. It’s definitely a case of elderly abuse.”
