Amy Slaton’s Recent Legal Troubles: Pleading Guilty to Drug Possession
According to court documents acquired by US Weekly on December 19, 2024, Amy Slaton has officially pleaded guilty to “simple possession” of drugs as part of a plea agreement submitted to the Crockett County courthouse in Tennessee. The 1000-lb Sisters star faced arrest in September 2024 when authorities were called to respond to an incident involving a guest being bitten by a camel at a local drive-through zoo.
The court documents indicate that Amy Slaton received a suspended sentence of 11 months and 29 days, which means she will not serve time in prison. However, she is required to pay a $500 fine and complete a drug and alcohol assessment as part of her sentence. Additionally, Amy has been banned from making any contact with the Tennessee Safari Park. Notably, she was cleared of the more severe charges of child abuse and endangerment that had been levied against her.
In the September 2024 incident, Slaton was arrested alongside a man named Brian Scott Lovvorn. Both individuals faced charges related to illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI substances, along with two counts of child endangerment. Initially, Slaton pleaded not guilty to the drug possession and child endangerment charges; however, she later accepted a plea deal for the lesser drug possession charge. At the time of the arrest, her two children, Gage Deon and Glenn Allen Halterman, whom she shares with ex-husband Michael Halterman, were also present in the vehicle. As of now, TLC has not yet announced the renewal of 1000-lb Sisters for a seventh season, but fans can catch up on previous seasons available for streaming on Max.
