2026 Guess Who Tour Featuring Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings

Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings, the iconic founding guitarist and legendary classic-era vocalist of the Guess Who, are currently engaged in discussions regarding an exciting Guess Who reunion tour slated for 2026. This potential comeback has been highly anticipated by fans and is expected to bring back the magic of one of Canada’s most celebrated rock bands.

“As I’m wrapping up my commitments for this year, and Randy is finalizing his Bachman-Turner Overdrive projects, we are actively planning to revive the Guess Who for an exhilarating performance in 2026,” Bachman shared with American Songwriter. “We envision a setlist filled with around 30 of our greatest hits, featuring a dynamic show that could last two to three hours, akin to a Bruce Springsteen marathon concert. We are fully prepared to announce ‘The Guess Who are back’ in 2026.”

Bachman has a busy schedule ahead, as he gears up for an extensive North American tour with the revitalized Bachman-Turner Overdrive from April to August, alongside the promise of the band’s first new album in over 40 years. Meanwhile, Cummings made waves with his recent release, A Few Good Moments, in 2024, marking his first new album in over a decade and has lined up several solo tour dates through August.

The news of a potential Guess Who reunion tour comes after a lengthy and intense legal battle where Bachman and Cummings fought vigorously to prevent another version of the band from touring under their iconic name.

How Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings Successfully Navigated Their Guess Who Lawsuit

In late 2023, Bachman and Cummings took decisive legal action by filing a lawsuit against the then-active Guess Who, which only included original drummer Garry Peterson at that time. They accused this version of the band of misleadingly advertising themselves as the legitimate Guess Who, comprised of hired musicians who had been touring and recording under the band’s historic name.

In a bold move, Cummings went so far as to revoke the performing rights to the Guess Who’s songs, effectively preventing anyone, including himself and the alleged “cover band,” from performing them live. This drastic action also suspended all royalty payments from concerts, television, movies, and radio plays, making it a significant and unprecedented legal strategy.

The gamble paid off when, in September, Bachman and Cummings successfully reached a settlement with Peterson and original drummer Jim Kale, who had been part of the unauthorized Guess Who until his retirement in 2016. They now share the rights to the band’s trademark, ensuring that the legacy of the Guess Who remains intact.

“If a group is out there calling themselves the Guess Who, it will feature the lead singer who wrote the songs and the guitarist who created the iconic riffs,” Cummings stated during the settlement announcement. “It will unequivocally include Bachman and Cummings. We are uncertain of the exact details yet, as Randy has numerous bookings and I have my solo gigs. What is clear is that we are relieved knowing there isn’t a fake Guess Who touring anymore.”
