On Tuesday, March 4, the young boy contacted 911, insisting that his mother was behaving badly and needed to be “arrested.” The audio recording of the call has since circulated widely in the media. During the exchange, the child confidently declared his mother’s misdeed, stating, “Come and get my mommy,” which left the dispatcher both amused and concerned.

“My mom is being bad,” the child asserted to the dispatcher, who promptly replied, “Ok, what’s going on?” The little boy insisted, “Come and get my mommy.”

After further questioning from the dispatcher, the child restated his desire for the police to come and arrest his mother. Eventually, the boy’s mother intervened, explaining that he was only four years old and had been attempting to talk to the police after she had taken the ice cream from him.

In a humorous moment, the boy continued to insist: “No…I called the police and I told her to come and get my mommy…and I just told her to put her to jail. So leave me alone.” Meanwhile, his mother confirmed the situation, admitting that she had indeed eaten her son’s ice cream.

Upon receiving the call, officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department arrived at the home, much to the surprise of the boy’s mother. Bodycam footage captured her astonishment as she exclaimed, “Oh, it’s the police; they came for real.” She then called for her son, asking him why he had dialed 911 in the first place. Initially, he claimed that his mother was being bad, hitting him, and engaging in “silly stuff.” However, the police officer quickly clarified the situation regarding the alleged hitting.

“So, no calling 911 unless it’s a real emergency, okay,” the officer advised the young boy. Another officer humorously suggested arresting the mother, to which she playfully agreed. She later shared that this was her son’s first experience making a 911 call, which he had initiated using Siri. Although she thought the call would not connect, it did, prompting her to chase him around the house to retrieve the phone. Ultimately, the officers departed without any issues, reminding the child once more that 911 is reserved for emergencies only.

The day after the amusing incident, the same female officers returned to the boy’s residence, bringing with them a delightful surprise: a delicious ice cream sundae adorned with blue sprinkles. The police department shared a heartwarming recap photo of the officers alongside the boy and his sweet treat, capturing the joy of the moment.

“On 3/4/25, Officer Gardinier and Officer Ostergaard were dispatched for a 911 hangup. A little boy called 911 saying his mom was being bad and needed to go to jail. When Officers arrived he said his mom ate his ice cream and needed to go to jail for it. He told them he no longer wanted her to go to jail and just wanted some ice cream. Officers responded back today to surprise him with some ice cream after he decided he didn’t want mom in trouble anymore!”
