The Atlanta Police Department has made public the audio recording of the 911 call made just before the tragic passing of Kenneth Edward Bailey, widely known by his stage name Young Scooter.

On Monday, March 31, the Atlanta Police Department released the audio of the 911 call, which lasted over 10 minutes. In this alarming call, a woman identified herself as a member of the neighborhood watch and urgently requested immediate assistance from the police and EMS. Her frantic voice echoed the seriousness of the situation, describing a chaotic scene unfolding in the neighborhood, which she felt compelled to report.

“There was literally a shooting,” she stated. “…There is literally a whole domestic dispute going on. There’s like seven guys that live in this house… these guys are like selling drugs in and out of the house… The situation that’s going on right now, this girl doesn’t have on any clothes — they threw her outside [and] he was fighting the girl… I’m not sure what they were fighting over…”

As the tense call progressed, the woman reported that another individual had arrived at the residence, leading to an escalation that resulted in a shooting currently taking place. Her voice quivered as she described the intense atmosphere filled with fear and confusion.

“I believe the girl was hurt — she was, like, bleeding profusely — blood everywhere,” the caller claimed.

The caller insisted that the altercation involved a man described as having a “caramel complexion and a low haircut” who was present at the residence during the violent incident. As the call came to a close, frustration grew as the dispatcher continued with questions and requested an EMS unit from Grady Memorial Hospital, further prolonging the urgency of the situation.

Atlanta Police Address the Allegations Made by the 911 Caller

On Saturday, March 29, the Atlanta Police conducted a press conference to address the incident and the subsequent death, providing insight into the unfolding events.

“There was a 911 call of a dispute with shots fired and a female being dragged back into the residence,” an officer explained. “When officers arrived, a male initially opened the door -[and] closed the door on the officers’ face without communicating completely. That’s when the officers established a perimeter, and the two males fled. Why they fled? Obviously, we can’t speak for them.”

Moreover, the officer emphasized that the police were unable to locate the woman allegedly involved in the disturbance, which raised further questions about the incident.

“We have not been able to substantiate any of that,” the officer remarked, addressing the claims regarding a woman being harmed at the residence. “Which is also a part of our investigation.”

In-Depth Investigation Into Young Scooter’s Death and the Atlanta Police Department’s Ongoing Inquiry

While the exact time the 911 call was made remains unknown, the Atlanta Police report that their units arrived at the scene at 5:23 p.m. Previous reports from The Shade Room indicated that a man, later identified as Young Scooter, was allegedly seen fleeing the scene alongside another male who reportedly returned to the residence during the chaos.

According to police statements, Scooter allegedly “jumped two fences” and sustained a leg injury in the process. He was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries, which were reportedly sustained while attempting to escape the scene. Importantly, law enforcement reiterated that there was no gunfire initiated by police during this incident.

It’s poignant to note that March 28 marked Young Scooter’s 39th birthday. The investigation into this tragic incident and the circumstances surrounding the rapper’s death remains active, conducted by the homicide unit of the Atlanta Police Department. Additionally, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is reported to be assisting with the case, underscoring the seriousness of the unfolding investigation.
