In mild of the drama that happened over the weekend, Jane’s Addiction has canceled the remainder of their 2024 tour and introduced a hiatus in a brand new assertion.

During the band’s efficiency in Boston on Sept. 13, frontman Perry Farrell had a confrontation with guitarist Dave Navarro that turned bodily. The singer was escorted off the stage by crew members, and the band issued a press release apologizing for the incident on social media the following day.

In the publish, the group introduced the cancelation of their Sept. 15 present in Bridgeport, Connecticut. However, in two new statements the band shared on social media immediately (Sept. 16), they’ve canceled the remainder of the tour and revealed that they’re taking a break as a band.

“To all the fans, the band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour,” the assertion reads, including that refunds shall be given to ticket holders on the level of buy.

A second assertion was shared in a publish on Navarro’s private Instagram, signed by himself, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins.

“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current U.S. tour. Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs,” the publish reads.

“We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken.”

Farrell additionally made a direct, public apology to his bandmates on Monday within the aftermath of his Boston meltdown. “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends or my actions during Friday’s show,” he wrote in an Instagram story. “Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”

What Happened in Boston

Toward the tip of Jane’s Addiction’s present at Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion Friday evening, Farrell began shouting at Navarro and bumping into him. The guitarist tried to maintain the singer off of him together with his arm, and then Farrell punched him earlier than being escorted off the stage.

The band shared a public apology on their Instagram story the following day that learn, “We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night. As a result we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport.”

The tour was initially set to wrap up Oct. 16 in Los Angeles.
