Fan Dies After Sustaining Injuries at Riot Fest


A fan named Stephen Shult has died after sustaining accidents at Chicago’s Riot Fest, which passed off in late September. The pageant organizers have since issued an announcement on the tragedy.

Shult, who was 58 years previous, was at the pageant together with his daughter, Jen Eaton, based on a GoFundMe web page she organized to assist together with his medical payments. On Sept. 22, the pair separated for the ultimate act of the evening. When Shult failed to look at any of their meet-up spots afterward, Eaton reported him lacking, and shared it on the Riot Fest Facebook web page.

A member of the Riot Fest medical workforce alerted Eaton and her household that they’d taken Shult to the hospital, and he was within the ICU with a mind bleed and was in essential situation. He’d reportedly been introduced in with head trauma, and underwent a craniotomy.

Eaton wrote within the GoFundMe description that Shult had initially been recovering nicely, however then his situation turned for the more serious. After over per week within the hospital, Shult sadly succumbed to his accidents.

“When we arrived Wednesday they suspected he was in a natural coma and had little to no brain activity. We were put in the position to determine the next steps,” she wrote. “After more testing and another day of waiting for those results it was confirmed he would not have any decent quality of life moving forward if he recovered and we collectively as a family, made the decision to let him be at peace.”

The GoFundMe web page now goals to boost funds for Shult’s cremation and celebration of life providers.

Riot Fest have since issued an announcement on Shult’s demise, addressing rumors that he died throughout Slayer’s set. The evening marked their first efficiency since November of 2019.

The submit seems to be in reference to a Reddit thread that was shared yesterday afternoon by an individual claiming to be a pal of the deceased.
