Vogue and The Metropolitan Museum of Art are getting us hyped for May 2025. Today, the pair introduced the 2025 Met Gala theme for the Spring 2025 exhibit. Drum roll, please… for: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
The anticipated present is anticipated to study “the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora.” The exhibit curated by Andrew Bolton will focus solely on menswear – the first since 2003. Monica Miller (Professor and Chair of Africana Studies at Barnard College, Columbia University) will function visitor curator, as Miller’s 2009 ebook Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity served as inspiration.
