Charli XCX Unveils New Sketch Following Ariana Grande’s “Domingo”
Fans of Saturday Night Live enthusiastically proclaimed, “I love it,” after the hilarious Domingo sketch, prompting the show to bring back the talented Charli XCX for another entertaining episode.
During the episode aired on November 16, Charli made a memorable appearance in a sequel to the viral skit originally featuring Ariana Grande, who hosted the show in October. This follow-up captured the audience’s attention with its fresh take on the earlier sketch.
In this delightful new version, Charli, alongside SNL cast members Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, and Sarah Sherman, portrayed a lively group of friends who perform a catchy song at their pregnant friend Kelsey’s baby shower. Played by Chloe Fineman, Kelsey becomes the center of attention as they humorously serenade her about a past romantic encounter with a man named Domingo, with Marcello Hernández returning to reprise his role as the charming love interest.
In contrast to the original sketch, where the women delivered a comical rendition of Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Espresso” at Kelsey’s wedding, this sequel featured an amusing parody of Chappell Roan‘s hit “Hot to Go!” showcasing the cast’s impressive comedic timing and musical talent.
The catchy lyrics included lines like, “We say, Kelsey, ‘Get off your phone’ / ’cause we know who she’s texting / Know who she’s texting? / D-O-M-I-N-G-O / Kelsey is texting Domingo / Thought that she forgot this dude / She’s sending him her pregnant nudes.” This playful take on relationships and modern communication resonated well with the audience, adding to the sketch’s overall charm.
