My wife, Mary, once joked that “silly men everywhere love me because I am silly forever.” This character’s journey is profoundly earned; he initially shuts down after the loss of his wife, believing that life has nothing left for him. Eventually, driven by his daughter’s encouragement, he whimsically responds to an ad that leads him to a retirement home, stepping into the role of a private eye’s assistant.
