Are You Ready to Win an Exclusive U2 Vinyl of How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb? Here’s Your Opportunity!
In honor of the 20th anniversary of U2’s iconic album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, the band has unveiled a special release titled How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb. This remarkable collection features 10 previously unreleased songs that emerged from the original recording sessions, offering a rare glimpse into the creative process of one of the world’s most beloved bands.
This unique vinyl release will be available exclusively as part of Record Store Day’s Black Friday promotion. However, we are thrilled to offer our own limited edition version of this striking black and red marble vinyl, making it a must-have for any U2 fan.
The Edge reflected on the creative journey of How to Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb, stating, “The sessions for How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb were such a vibrant and innovative time for the band, during which we explored a myriad of song ideas in the studio. We drew inspiration from our early musical influences, while Bono experienced significant personal introspection as he navigated the loss of his father during this transformative period.
“For this special anniversary edition, I delved into my personal archive to unearth any unreleased treasures, and I struck gold. We selected ten tracks that resonated deeply with us. Although we initially set these songs aside, hindsight has proven our instincts correct; these tracks deserved a place on the album, and we were truly onto something extraordinary.
“This shadow album captures the essence of that raw creative energy, showcasing the visceral impact of our music, a sonic narrative that encapsulates a moment in time. It reflects the dynamic interplay of four musicians collaborating in a studio, resulting in what can only be described as the pure U2 experience.”
The shadow album comprises fresh, never-before-heard songs alongside previously unreleased tracks, including “Treason,” “Evidence of Life,” “Country Mile,” and “Happiness.” Additionally, a song titled “Luckiest Man In The World,” previously known by its working title “Mercy,” is finally receiving its official release after an early demo surfaced online nearly 20 years ago.
Moreover, the collection is enhanced by five newly remastered songs: “Picture of You (X+W),” “I Don’t Wanna See You Smile,” “Are We Gonna Wait Forever?,” “Theme From The Batman,” and “All Because Of You 2.” This marks the first time these tracks have been compiled together.
