Janelle Expresses Concerns Over Kody’s Financial Management

Janelle voiced her frustrations regarding the family’s ongoing struggles to settle the debts associated with Coyote Pass. She pointed out that while Kody frequently mentioned having “all these other debts,” she observed him acquiring various assets, including trailers and decorative items for their home. “I see all the art on their walls,” she remarked, referring to the lavish lifestyle of Robyn and Kody. “I see all these things. And that’s fine; I have money and I’ve spent it on things, too.” Kody, in response, explained that a significant portion of his finances was allocated to purchasing vehicles—claiming he essentially owned a fleet—and maintaining insurance for their children.

While Janelle admitted uncertainty about the financial practices of Kody and Robyn, she couldn’t help but be surprised by the state of Robyn’s backyard. “I used to always be surprised at how nice her backyard was. It was completely finished,” she noted, highlighting the presence of numerous items at Robyn’s home. “And I was like, ‘Wow. Huh.’” This observation sparked curiosity about how their financial priorities differed.

Ultimately, Janelle concluded, “He doesn’t prioritize what I need or what I want.” This disconnect gradually took a toll on her, particularly as her adult children began expressing their discontent. “I think after a while, I began to see it, and my kids were getting very angry about it, like my adult children. Like, ‘What the hell, Mom?’” Their reactions underscored the growing emotional strain within the family.

In contrast, Robyn shared her perspective on financial management, revealing that she became very cautious about budgeting following the collapse of her first marriage. “I used to be not so great with money,” she disclosed during the Sept. 22 episode. “When I was young, I had hard knocks, and then I learned during my divorce really how to budget myself very, very well.” She suggested that her sister wives simply had different financial priorities, stating, “You just must have had a different priority of where your money was going to go than I did, that’s all.” This reflection on past experiences highlights the complexities of their financial dynamics.
