MrBeast initially confirmed the production of Beast Games, which he will host and executive produce, earlier this year. A teaser for the show was released on November 25, followed by an official trailer on December 6. The format of Beast Games involves 1000 contestants engaging in a series of thrilling, high-stakes challenges, all vying for a grand cash prize of $5 million.

In a statement released by Amazon, MrBeast articulated his aspirations for the series, emphasizing his goal to “create the greatest show possible” and to illustrate how YouTubers and content creators can achieve success on various platforms. During an October 2024 episode of Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast (starting from the 7:27 mark), MrBeast revealed that he invested over $100 million in the production of the show. He specified that $15 million was dedicated to constructing a “walled-in city” where participants could live while competing in the games. Additionally, Jimmy disclosed that he distributed $20 million in total, which included the $5 million cash prize awarded to contestants.

However, the production of Beast Games has not been without controversy. A 50-page lawsuit was filed on September 16, 2024, by five anonymous participants of the show, alleging “chronic mistreatment” and “inhumane conditions.” Furthermore, a serious incident occurred towards the end of filming when a crew member was hospitalized after a 6×6 section of a tower collapsed onto him, as reported by journalist Steven Asarch.
