Emo Show Incident: Drunk Man Arrested in Disney Springs

A passionate fan of the iconic mid-2000s emo band Hawthorne Heights is facing backlash after an incident involving excessive drinking at a Disney property during the summer, where families were present. This situation serves as a reminder of how quickly a fun experience can turn chaotic, especially in family-friendly environments.

Incident Leads to Removal from Hawthorne Heights Concert

WDW News Today, a reputable site dedicated to Disney news and updates, covers everything related to the magical world of Disney. Their content ranges from the latest merchandise available in parks to detailed reports on park maintenance, such as weed removal from popular attractions like a Star Wars ride.

A recent article by WDWNT details a troubling event that took place this past summer, beginning with a Florida man’s removal from a concert at the House of Blues in Orlando, where he was attending a performance by Hawthorne Heights.

The report states that 38-year-old Ryan Tomasko from Wesley Chapel, Florida, was ejected from the venue for allegedly being intoxicated. An arrest report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, which was accessed by WDWNT, described how Tomasko appeared to be swaying as he left the House of Blues, ultimately colliding with a pole and sustaining an undisclosed injury in the process.

How a Hawthorne Heights Fan Found Himself Among Disney Families

Tragically for Tomasko, the House of Blues in Orlando is situated in a bustling area where finding a quiet place to recover is quite challenging. The venue is located within Disney Springs, a vibrant entertainment, dining, and shopping district that is part of the larger Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney Springs, which was previously known as Downtown Disney, is designed to provide a lively nightlife atmosphere for Disney visitors. However, due to its family-friendly nature and the Disney brand association, it is constantly filled with families enjoying the various attractions, which adds a layer of complexity to the situation.

According to WDWNT, after Tomasko exited the House of Blues, he found himself right in the midst of families who had gathered in the streets of Disney Springs to enjoy a mesmerizing drone show. This unfortunate placement turned a personal crisis into a public spectacle, drawing attention from those around him.

Reports indicate that deputies attempted to escort Tomasko to a behind-the-scenes employee area, yet he resisted by locking his legs, making it difficult for the officers to guide him. The arrest report noted that he squeezed the deputies’ arms tightly, complicating the situation even further, which resulted in additional challenges for law enforcement.

Legal Consequences Following the Drunken Incident at Disney

WDWNT’s report highlighted that they delayed publishing the story due to the lag in releasing details regarding the case. Online court records from the Orange County Clerk’s Office reveal that Tomasko faces several charges: one count of resisting an officer without violence, trespassing after being warned, and disorderly intoxication. Notably, the latter two charges were subsequently dropped as per the online records.

During a hearing on November 18, Tomasko was directed to participate in a pre-trial intervention program. Such intervention programs for nonviolent offenses typically encompass a variety of requirements, which may include counseling sessions, community service commitments, and/or drug screenings to ensure compliance and rehabilitation.

The Florida State’s Attorney Office of the Sixth Judicial Court clarified on their website that upon successful completion of all program requirements, the charges against Tomasko will be dismissed. However, if he fails to complete the sanctions in a timely manner, the case will revert back to the regular court division for further action.
