Pentatonix Joins Republic Records for New Music Journey
The renowned Grammy-winning vocal ensemble Pentatonix has officially joined forces with Republic Records, as confirmed by the label in a recent announcement to Billboard. This strategic partnership marks an exciting new phase for the group, known for their innovative a cappella performances and unique holiday music.
“Pentatonix have always stood apart,” expressed Jim Roppo, the president and COO of Republic Corps Collective, in a statement regarding the signing. “There has never been a vocal group like them, and they’ve managed to completely reinvent both a cappella music and the holiday season, becoming synonymous with both. As a collaborative team, we are incredibly excited to partner with them and help realize their expansive vision for this next chapter of their musical journey.”
Pentatonix, under the management of Range Media Partners, previously held a contract with RCA Records. This new signing to Republic Records is anticipated to propel their career to new heights, allowing them to reach broader audiences and explore new creative avenues.
Throughout their illustrious career, Pentatonix has consistently achieved remarkable success, including 11 top 10-charting albums on the Billboard 200 chart. Their impressive discography features two No. 1 hits, including their self-titled album released in 2015 and A Pentatonix Christmas, which debuted in late 2016, topping the charts in January 2017. Most recently, the ensemble’s best-of compilation, The Greatest Christmas Hits, reached No. 10 in January 2024. Their extensive catalog has amassed over 6.5 billion on-demand streams in the U.S., according to Luminate, while their albums have sold an impressive 12.5 million equivalent units, with 7 million attributed to traditional album sales. Additionally, they have garnered a total of three Grammy Awards.
“We’re thrilled to kick off this new partnership with Republic!” stated Pentatonix in an official statement. “They’ve played a crucial role in shaping the careers of numerous artists we hold in high regard. After engaging in many fruitful discussions with their team, we’re excited to align on a shared vision that aims to elevate our artistry to new heights. Here’s to a thrilling journey ahead!”
This announcement coincides with Pentatonix’s ongoing holiday tour, which commenced on November 14 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, and has since traveled to various cities across the country. According to a press release, their concert on November 26 at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York was a complete sellout. The tour will conclude on December 22 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, promising an exhilarating finale for fans.
On the recording front, Pentatonix recently composed an original song for the Netflix holiday romantic comedy Meet Me Next Christmas, where they also made an appearance alongside Christina Milian and Devale Ellis.
