“Channing was my initial thought for the role of Slater King, and I can’t pinpoint why that was, similar to your experience,” Zoe confessed. “The character required someone who exudes trustworthiness, particularly because viewers need to be convinced that Naomi’s character would board that plane. I aimed to utilize his charisma as a weapon. It’s a refreshing change to see him portray such a complex role.”
Continuing her thoughts, Zoe mentioned, “For Naomi, I needed an actress whose facial expressions could convey depth, as the essence of her character relies heavily on the contrast between what her face shows and what her eyes reveal. That’s a challenging skill to master. After meeting her, I was confident in her abilities; she instinctively grasped the film’s core message.”
Following their collaboration on the film, Zoe and Channing began dating, eventually getting engaged, although they parted ways after three years this fall.
