Ozzy Performs at Rock Hall Rehearsal After Singer No-Show

Ozzy Osbourne has made significant strides towards a potential performance at the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, much closer than previously anticipated. His induction as a solo artist during the 2024 event marked a high point in his illustrious career. Despite ongoing health challenges prompting his retirement from touring, Osbourne remained optimistic about taking the stage prior to the Hall ceremony. Instead, he observed the heartfelt tributes from a throne, surrounded by a talented lineup of musicians, including renowned guitarist Zakk Wylde, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Jelly Roll, and Wolfgang Van Halen, all of whom celebrated his musical legacy.

In a recent episode of the Shred with Shifty podcast, Zakk Wylde shared insights on how close Osbourne came to performing live. He revealed, “Ozzy sang ‘Mama’ the day before, because Jelly Roll wasn’t there,” highlighting that Osbourne was indeed prepared to take the stage during rehearsal.

When asked about the decision to refrain from performing at the main event, Wylde expressed uncertainty, saying, “I don’t know.” He elaborated that there was an expectation for a tribute performance, similar to how Kelly Clarkson collaborated with Foreigner’s Lou Graham. “You know what I mean? But like, Kelly was mostly singing the whole thing and all that stuff.”
