Abby Jimenez Interview: Insights on Say You’ll Remember Me

Embracing the Challenge: Turning Obstacles into Opportunities

“My husband made the pivotal decision to leave his job just three weeks after we launched our bakery,” she shared regarding Carlos’ choice to become the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Nadia Cakes. “We understood that we needed to invest our entire selves into the success of Nadia Cakes, as failing to do so meant risking everything we had worked for.” This courageous step proved to be a wise gamble, leading to the remarkable expansion of Nadia Cakes from its humble beginnings in southern California to two thriving locations in Minnesota, where the Jimenez family has now established their roots.

“I certainly didn’t start this venture with the ambition to become a celebrated baker or to earn accolades on the Food Network,” she emphasized. “My primary motivation was simply to meet my financial obligations and provide for my family, as that was my main focus.” This relentless drive to support her loved ones fueled her passion and commitment to the bakery, despite the many challenges.

However, the demanding nature of running a bakery took a toll on Abby, leading to burnout. Recognizing the need for balance, she decided to step back and redirect her energy towards another passion that had long been on her mind: writing.

“When I shifted my focus to writing books, it felt like I was taking the least amount of risk I had ever encountered,” Abby explained during her interview with E!. “This transition allowed me to pursue my creative goals without the pressure of needing to achieve a specific outcome, which was incredibly liberating for me.”
