In an exciting development for fans, Alice Cooper has officially announced that former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke will step in as the new fill-in guitarist for the iconic rocker?s upcoming tour. This tour is set to take place from January 31 to February 17, showcasing Cooper’s electrifying performances. Initially, Orianthi, who has previously played for Cooper, was slated to fill this role; however, she has had to withdraw due to unforeseen health issues that prevent her from touring.
Orianthi shared her situation on X, stating, “I have a torn hamstring, hip and lower back issue which is very uncomfortable and unfortunate. I’m getting the help I need here with the best doctors. I have been advised to not tour or travel. I love Alice and the band very much, but unfortunately, I cannot participate in this tour. I’m focusing on my recovery. Love you all.” Her heartfelt message highlights the challenges artists face with health and touring.
The tour will kick off in Augusta, Georgia, on January 31, and will culminate with the highly anticipated Rock Legends Cruise in Miami, slated for February 13 to 17. Gilby Clarke’s journey in the music scene took a significant leap forward in 1991 when he joined Guns N’ Roses as a replacement for Izzy Stradlin during the iconic Use Your Illusion Tour. He contributed to the band’s 1993 covers album, “The Spaghetti Incident?”, and shortly after, he released his debut solo album, Pawnshop Guitars, which showcased his exceptional talent. Clarke further made his mark by collaborating on Slash’s Snakepit debut album, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, in 1995.
