Allison Holker Clarifies Her Intentions Behind Her Book About Life With Stephen 'tWitch' Boss

Allison Holker Discusses Her Book on Life with Stephen

Allison Holker has issued an official statement following a whirlwind of attention over the past few days. As the week progresses, this marks the second occasion she has addressed the public’s concern regarding the personal revelations she shared about her late husband, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, and his struggles with drug addiction. Tragically, Stephen passed away in December 2022 due to self-inflicted harm at the age of 40, leaving behind a legacy that continues to impact many.

In her heartfelt statement, Holker discussed the impending release of her memoir titled ‘This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light.’ Using her Instagram Stories, she reached out to Stephen’s family, friends, and supporters, expressing her hope that her book could provide solace to other families facing similar challenges. She candidly admitted that she would “never really know what happened” and is working to piece together the fragments of their shared experiences.

“If you choose to read the book, my hope is that you will see my intention is to honor the love and life I shared with Stephen and our three wonderful children. I also aim to reveal the more intricate aspects of our lives. By sharing our complete story, I aspire to help someone else who might relate to Stephen’s journey or recognize it in a loved one,” she expressed passionately.

Allison emphasized her belief that sharing her experiences may assist another family in identifying “red flags” she overlooked before it was too late. She clarified that her writing drew upon two years of discussions with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and The Defensive Line, a mental health community. The proceeds from her book will support Move with Kindness, her foundation established in honor of her late husband. Swipe below to read the full statement.

“My hope is that we don’t need to lose another husband, brother, father, or friend to suicide. If Stephen had the choice, I believe he would want his story told if it could save even one life. Much love to everyone who has supported our family throughout these years.”

Understanding the Context Behind Allison Holker’s Recent Statement

It appears that Allison has already embarked on her promotional journey for the upcoming release of her book next month. Social media has been buzzing since PEOPLE published an interview with Allison earlier this week, in which she candidly revealed her discovery of drugs in Stephen Boss’ closet while preparing for his funeral. This revelation has sparked considerable discussion online.

However, the public response has been mixed, with some individuals expressing dissatisfaction over her candidness. An alleged cousin of Stephen, named Darielle, took to X (formerly Twitter) to make serious allegations. Darielle claimed that Allison was keeping her and tWitch’s children away from the family and insisted that loved ones were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement for his funeral. Furthermore, she accused Holker of attempting to “tarnish” Stephen’s legacy.

While Allison has not directly responded to her cousin’s accusations, she did reply to another social media user who criticized her for reportedly disgracing Twitch with her interview for PEOPLE. In her response, she stated, “Just trying to help people feel safe to ask for help and support,” highlighting her intention to foster understanding and compassion surrounding mental health issues.
