Andor Season 1 made its debut towards the end of 2022, captivating audiences with its compelling storytelling. The series stars Diego Luna, reprising his iconic role as Cassian Andor, alongside esteemed franchise veterans Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma. The cast also includes Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, and Adria Arjona, all of whom contribute to the rich tapestry of the series.
Set five years prior to the events depicted in Rogue One, the series chronicles the thrilling escapades of the titular rebel spy during the critical formative years of the Rebellion. It delves into gripping tales of espionage and audacious missions aimed at rekindling hope in a galaxy dominated by a formidable Empire.
Andor is expertly produced under the guidance of showrunner Tony Gilroy, who previously directed the reshoots for Rogue One. Although originally slated to direct three episodes, Gilroy had to step back from this role, allowing Toby Haynes of Black Mirror fame to take over due to travel restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
