Blind in Right Eye: Elton John Reveals ‘I Can’t See Anything’

Elton John recently provided an important update regarding the eye infection that has significantly affected his vision. This update comes after he previously revealed that the infection, which he contracted during the summer, resulted in “limited vision” in his right eye. During a candid interview with Good Morning America, John shared, “Unfortunately, I lost my eyesight in my right eye in July due to an infection in the South of France, and it has now been four months since I have been unable to see properly. My left eye is also not in the best condition.” This alarming health issue has understandably raised concerns among his fans and the music community.

John emphasized that he is “taking initiative” to address this serious vision problem, but acknowledged that the current state of his eyesight has severely curtailed his daily activities and professional engagements. His lack of vision has imposed significant limitations on what he is capable of doing, impacting both his personal and artistic pursuits.

“I can manage to participate in interviews like this one,” he explained, referring to the ongoing interview, “but when it comes to going into the studio and recording new music, I truly don’t know how that will work. I can’t even read the lyrics to start with… It has really taken a toll on me, as I’m unable to see anything clearly. I struggle to read anything or watch anything on screen.” His resilience in the face of such challenges is commendable.

Celebrating the Release of ‘Never Too Late’

Despite these challenges, John remains enthusiastic about the creative projects that continue to unfold. The song not only underscores the themes of the documentary but also showcases John’s enduring talent and creativity.

Reflecting on this project, John expressed, “I am incredibly proud of the documentary. I take pride in my sons, my personal growth, and my attitude towards all the changes happening in my life. I feel fortunate and deeply grateful for where I am right now.” His positive outlook amidst adversity serves as a powerful testament to his character and passion for music.
