Brian Setzer has shared an important update regarding his health, revealing that he is currently unable to play guitar due to an autoimmune disease that is impacting his hands. This condition has posed significant challenges, especially for a musician of his caliber. In a heartfelt message posted on his social media, he expressed his desire to connect with fans, stating, “Towards the end of the last Stray Cats tour, I noticed that my hands were cramping up. After consulting with medical professionals, I learned that I have an autoimmune disease. Unfortunately, this means I cannot play guitar at the moment.”
Setzer further elaborated on his experience, explaining, “While I do not feel any pain, it?s as if I am wearing a pair of gloves when I attempt to play.” He also mentioned some positive developments in his recovery, such as regaining the ability to hold a pen and tie his shoes?tasks that had become incredibly difficult for him. Fortunately, he has access to top-notch medical care at the Mayo Clinic, which gives him confidence in overcoming this hurdle. ?I know I will beat this; it will just take some time,? he assured his supporters.
