Sam Asghari Acknowledges Britney Spears’ Significant Influence on His Career Journey
During a captivating segment on Nikki and Brie, Sam Asghari discussed the undeniable influence of pop icon Britney Spears on his professional trajectory. The conversation unfolded amidst a playful game inspired by the murder mystery reality show The Traitors, featuring hosts Nikki and Brie Bella, along with Asghari’s co-stars from The Traitors season 3, Wells Adams and Chrishell Stause. When confronted with a scenario about “banishing” someone for suggesting that his career success was solely due to his relationship with Spears, Asghari candidly reflected on the reality of his past marriage to one of the most celebrated artists in the music industry.
“Asghari candidly shared, “I wouldn’t banish. That’s just the way it happened for me. We first crossed paths on an acting set; my last partner, whom I was married to, happened to be the biggest superstar in the world, which undeniably provided me with a significant career boost.”
He further explained, “In this industry, everyone is somewhat famous by association, whether through collaborative work or personal connections. That’s simply the nature of the entertainment business.”
The dynamic duo met in 2016 when Asghari portrayed Spears’ romantic interest in her popular music video for “Slumber Party.” After five years of a passionate relationship, and following the termination of the Grammy winner’s conservatorship, the couple took a significant step and got engaged in 2021. They celebrated their union with a wedding in June 2022, but in a surprising turn of events, Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023, just over a year later.
Despite their separation, Asghari has expressed nothing but admiration and gratitude for Spears. In a heartfelt appearance on The Viall Files in February, he stated, “I always say, even though it’s over now, I’m never sad it’s over — I’m grateful it even happened.”
He emphasized, “She’s a genius artist. The creativity and brilliance in her mind are invaluable, and they are what have made her the iconic figure she is today.”
