Bruce Springsteen: ‘I’m Not a Billionaire’

In a new interview with the Telegraph, Springsteen said: “I’m not a billionaire. I wish I was, but they got that real wrong. I’ve spent too much money on superfluous things.”

He added that after the tough early years earlier than he broke out and achieved “good fortune,” he’d earned his paydays as he “put the work in.” And he cautioned that if a musician’s profession grew to become all about cash, “that’s usually where people go south.” From his perspective it was all about defending and nurturing his inventive skills, arguing: “If I had failed at that, I would have failed at everything, in my opinion.”

“Are you going to sleep well knowing that the nuclear codes have been given to Donald Trump? No. No one is.”
