Clem Burke was born on November 24, 1954, in Bayonne, New Jersey. He began his musical journey performing in local bands during the late 1960s and early 1970s, honing his skills and passion for rock music.

In 1975, he became a key member of Blondie, shortly after Deborah Harry and Chris Stein founded the band in New York City. Burke’s drumming prowess graced every album they released, starting with their self-titled debut in 1976, the groundbreaking Parallel Lines in 1978, the reunion album No Exit in 1999, and their most recent LP, Pollinator, released in 2017.
