Comeback Announcement from Fest After End of an Era

Furnace Fest is making a triumphant return! Yes, you read that correctly. Just under two months after what was believed to be the “end of an era” for this iconic hardcore festival, the organizers have had a remarkable change of heart. They’ve announced their plans to host a 2025 edition, much to the delight of fans who thought the last festival in early October marked a definitive goodbye.

Exciting Announcement: Furnace Fest Is Back for 2025!

In an exhilarating statement shared on the festival’s social media platforms, the organizers confirmed that Furnace Fest will indeed be returning next year. This announcement seems to have taken everyone by surprise, including the fans who were present for what they believed to be the festival’s grand finale. The unexpected news has sparked joy and excitement across the hardcore music community.

The full statement, as posted to Instagram, can be viewed below:

Furnace Fest family: we’re not crying; you’re crying! We love you forever, and all four million fifteen thousand seven hundred and fifty-two seconds since October 6th have been pure misery!

For those of you who got married, engaged, flew around the world (het spijt me, mijn Nederlandse gozers!), spent too much magic credit card money, and everyone else thinking you’d never see Sloss Furnaces together again, we apologize in advance for finding a way to reunite—for the sake of the children!

Artist and agent friends, we can hardly believe we’re saying this. Is anyone doing anything around October 3rd – 5th, 2025???

Exploring the Rich History of Furnace Fest

The very first Furnace Fest took place from August 11-13, 2000, featuring an impressive lineup that included headliners like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Strongarm, and The Handshake Murderers. Prominent up-and-coming acts such as Underoath, Isis, Zao, Candiria, New Found Glory, Further Seems Forever, Blindside, Hopesfall, and The Juliana Theory graced the stages during this inaugural event, setting a high standard for future festivals.

In the following years, the festival showcased an array of iconic bands including Converge, Hatebreed, Andrew W.K., Bleeding Through, Taking Back Sunday, Killswitch Engage, Thrice, Sunny Day Real Estate, Mastodon, and many more, solidifying its reputation as a must-attend event for hardcore music enthusiasts.

After facing financial challenges, the festival went on a hiatus following the 2003 edition. However, after a significant break, it made a triumphant return to the festival circuit in 2019. Unfortunately, the global pandemic delayed its comeback until 2021, but the wait was certainly worth it for devoted fans.

The 2024 edition, which many believed would be the final chapter, featured performances from fan-favorite bands August Burns Red and Underoath, providing an unforgettable experience that left attendees yearning for more.
