Dez Fafara Addresses Coal Chamber Tour Cancellation

Coal Chamber’s Spring Tour Cancellation: Dez Fafara Prioritizes Health – Coal Chamber will not participate in the anticipated co-headlining tour with Fear Factory this spring. Frontman Dez Fafara has announced that all touring engagements have been postponed until at least the fourth quarter of this year, as he focuses on addressing ongoing health issues. This decision follows a series of health-related setbacks that have impacted the band?s schedule over the past year.

Last summer, Fafara had to cancel the band’s headlining U.S. tour due to a serious medical emergency that resulted in him passing out. At that time, he underwent various tests to diagnose his condition. As the year progressed, these health challenges persisted, leading to the band’s withdrawal from the Aftershock festival. Though new tour dates were announced for 2025 with hope that Fafara would recover, the recent announcement indicates further delays.

In a heartfelt statement, the Coal Chamber vocalist shared updates on his health journey and the necessary pause in touring. His full message is detailed below:

Hello everyone,

First off let me express my support and prayers for all those affected by the devastating California wildfires. This situation has deeply impacted many, and I urge everyone to contribute in any way you can to help.

At this moment, I must cancel all scheduled tours for this year until the fourth quarter to concentrate on my well-being.

To everyone who has offered support, sent prayers, or reached out with kind words, I sincerely thank you. Your support means the world to me and my family during this challenging time.

Throughout my life, I have been fortunate, but like everyone, I have faced difficulties. The past few years have presented significant health challenges for my family and me.

I’m committed to restoring my health and maintaining a positive outlook. Once I am ready, I plan to return to the stage with renewed vigor alongside both Coal Chamber and DevilDriver.

There are numerous exciting projects in the pipeline with both bands, but I want to keep the focus on this important announcement for now.

To all my supporters, I apologize for the cancellation of these tours. Unfortunately, I’m currently unable to perform at my full capacity.

Let?s continue to love and support one another.
– Dez Fafara

In the comments of his Instagram post, Fafara conveyed his deep appreciation to fans, saying, “I want you all to know how much I value your support. It has been a tough journey.”

Coal Chamber reached the peak of their success in the late ’90s and early 2000s with their self-titled debut album, followed by the critically acclaimed Chamber Music in 1999 and Dark Days in 2002.

After reuniting, they released the album Rivals in 2015. Following another hiatus after that album’s support, the band has reunited once more, but Fafara’s health issues have put their plans on temporary hold.
