Ridley Scott?s upcoming television series promises a thrilling adventure as a group of con artists impersonating DEA agents find themselves embroiled in a dangerous heist, stealing drug money from the wrong individuals. The stakes escalate rapidly, highlighting the intense world of crime and deception.

Apple TV+ has officially released the highly anticipated trailer for Dope Thief, an eight-episode crime drama that is set to captivate audiences. This series is executive produced by the acclaimed Academy Award-nominee Ridley Scott, who also directs the inaugural episode. Additionally, the creative vision comes from Academy Award-nominee Peter Craig, and stars the talented Academy, Emmy, and Tony Award-nominee Brian Tyree Henry, who takes on the role of executive producer as well. Viewers can mark their calendars for the series’ global launch on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes premiering on Friday, March 14, 2025, followed by weekly releases every Friday until April 25.

Based on the gripping novel by Dennis Tafoya, Dope Thief follows a group of long-time friends from Philadelphia who engage in reckless behavior. They masquerade as DEA agents to execute a robbery on an unsuspecting house in the countryside. However, their seemingly simple scam spirals into a high-stakes life-or-death situation as they inadvertently expose a major hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard. This unexpected twist transforms their petty crime into a thrilling narrative filled with danger and suspense.

The talented ensemble cast alongside Brian Tyree Henry includes renowned actors such as Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison, Dustin Nguyen, and Golden Globe-winner Ving Rhames. They eventually select the wrong target, walking away with hundreds of thousands of dollars, which draws the ire of a dangerous figure willing to kill for his stolen money. As Ray grapples with the consequences of their actions, he realizes he yearns for a way out?away from the con and the life he feels trapped in.
