Recently, he has been a prominent touring member of Mike Campbell’s Dirty Knobs. In a January 2024 interview with Buddy magazine, Holt expressed his admiration for Campbell, saying, “Mike and I do a ton of dual guitar interplay, and he gives me so much freedom to play like I want to play while supporting him.” He appreciates the opportunity to shine on stage while remaining respectful of the audience’s connection with the main artist.

In a recent conversation with The Dallas Morning News, Holt reflected on the honor of stepping into such significant shoes. “I’m trying to fill the giant shoes of all three that came before me,? he noted, referencing the legendary contributions of Smith, Don Felder, and Bernie Leadon. “It’s some of the most beautiful guitar work ever recorded, in my opinion. It’s the highest honor for me to do it, and it’s my duty to get it right.”
