Emotional Revelation: Christina Haack Opens Up About Her Heartbreaking Divorce from Josh Hall
Christina Haack is bravely sharing the details surrounding her recent breakup with Josh Hall, shedding light on the emotional turmoil she has faced during this challenging time.
In a poignant moment captured in the upcoming premiere episode of The Flip Off — set to air on January 29 — the beloved HGTV personality engages in a heartfelt conversation with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa. During this emotional exchange, she reveals that her marriage to Josh Hall has officially ended, marking another chapter in her tumultuous romantic history.
Upon visiting Christina’s home in Newport Beach, California, Tarek quickly picks up on her distressed demeanor, indicating that something significant is troubling her.
“I recognize that expression. What’s happening? Are you alright?” he inquires during a brief sneak peek of their latest TV venture. Christina, visibly shaken, responds, “No … Josh and I have officially split up,” conveying the weight of her heartbreak.
In July 2024, Josh filed for divorce from Christina after nearly three years of marriage, leading to a prolonged and contentious legal battle. Originally intended to co-star in The Flip Off alongside Christina, the Tennessee-based real estate expert has since been absent from filming, as she chose to continue without him following their separation.
In the emotional clip, Christina recounts to Tarek the pivotal moment that led to their split, recalling, “We had a blow-up… with middle fingers in my face,” and adds, “Problems with Josh had been brewing for a long time.”
The situation had become so dire that Christina’s two children, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, allegedly urged her to leave Josh, expressing their concerns for her well-being.
“They told me he’s not good for me. Why would I stick around?” Christina reflects, indicating the depth of her children’s feelings about the relationship.

Christina, who shares her son Hudson, 5, with ex-partner Ant Anstead, continues, “I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time, and I just can’t find my way out of it.”
“Everything since around 2016 has been incredibly hard and so difficult,” she says tearfully, referencing the year her marriage with Tarek ended after a domestic incident that led to his rehab for addiction. “It has truly taken a severe toll on my emotional and mental health.”
Despite their divorce, Christina and Tarek have managed to co-parent amicably, appearing together on their long-running show Flip or Flop for several seasons following their split. They have navigated through some challenges but have worked hard to maintain a positive relationship for the sake of their children.
In a moment of reflection, Christina tells Tarek, “I’m really sorry for my part too. I genuinely am. I just want you to understand that.”

Feeling emotional himself, Tarek responds, “I understand that feeling of being a little lost. And I acknowledge that I play a significant role, if not the entire role, in this situation.”
This candid exchange marks a significant moment where both Christina and Tarek openly discuss their separation for the first time on screen, showcasing their growth and understanding.
As Christina navigates her newfound single life post-split from Josh, Tarek has found happiness again with Heather Rae, whom he married in 2021. Together, they welcomed their son Tristan in February 2023, adding a new chapter to his family life.
Regarding Josh’s role on The Flip Off, which was originally intended to be a competitive home flipping series featuring Christina and Tarek alongside their new spouses, Christina revealed to Entertainment Tonight last month that the split has ultimately made the show “to be honest, much easier and significantly better in every way.”

“This show would have been difficult to film,” she concludes, reflecting on the challenges they faced.
However, the environment remains friendly for the exes, with Anstead set to appear as a guest judge on the series, alongside Heather’s former Selling Sunset co-star Amanza Smith, Real Housewives of Orange County’s Heather Dubrow, and Tarek and Christina’s mothers, creating a supportive atmosphere.
“I never imagined I would be in this position,” Christina shares in the show’s initial teaser trailer. Tarek adds, “I will do whatever it takes to win.” The four have participated in various humorous promos for the show, although Josh has since been excluded from new trailers and promotions.
The Flip Off premieres on January 29, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT with an exciting two-hour episode.
