Round Three Results Breakdown:
AC/DC’s Back in Black triumphed over Ozzy Osbourne’s Blizzard of Ozz with an impressive 78% of the votes. The legendary guitarist Angus Young and his bandmates have been dominating the competition, having previously defeated Phil Collins‘ No Jacket Required with a staggering score of 84% to 16% and The Talking Heads‘ Remain in Light with an 86% to 14% victory.
U2’s The Joshua Tree narrowly overcame The Police’s Synchronicity by just 27 votes in the closest contest of the tournament thus far, securing 50.13% of the total. The iconic band, featuring Bono, previously edged out Bruce Springsteen‘s Born in the U.S.A. with a score of 54% to 46% and Iron Maiden‘s Powerslave with a 59% to 41% result.
Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction defeated Journey’s Escape with a solid 66% of the votes. Frontman Axl Rose and his band previously triumphed over Prince‘s Purple Rain with a score of 58% to 42% and Rush‘s Permanent Waves with a decisive 62% to 38% victory.
Van Halen’s 1984 outperformed Def Leppard’s Hysteria with 56% of the votes. The dynamic duo of David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen previously defeated Metallica‘s Master of Puppets with a commanding 64% to 36% and tattooed the Rolling Stones‘ Tattoo You with a remarkable score of 79% to 21%.
