The bassist then supplied a honest apology. “I’m like, ‘Ma’am, you’re absolutely right. I was out of control. I’m so glad that I didn’t hit you but I’ll be much more careful next time. Please forgive me. I’m very sorry.’ You know, I’m very neighborly, I’m very polite,” mentioned Flea. “And she’s like, ‘Well, you’re an asshole and …’ And I’m like, ‘Ma’am, I’m very, very sorry.’ I’m maintaining my composure. And then she takes her ski pole and sticks it in my face. And then at that point, I’m like, ‘Well, I’m fucking sorry, but your fucking pole out of my face.'”
Flea then remembers Harrelson seeing the bassist with the girl poking her ski pole on the musician and he got here to his protection. But the girl continued in her anger towards Flea regardless of his apology, then threatening to have her husband come down and take him on.
“That’s when [Woody’s] like, ‘Bring the fucking husband. I want to see it,'” recalled Flea.
