He further added, “A month ago, I was offered to program them with several other European festivals.”

Barbaud explained that due to the Foo Fighters canceling their summer tour, he sought out Muse as a suitable replacement, stating, “I accepted because I was missing a headliner on Friday and because the Hellfest audience is more and more open. With age, I too have matured; I am less sectarian.” His statement reflects a shift in festival programming towards a broader musical palette.

Concluding his thoughts on Muse, Barbaud expressed, “I created this festival for the love of punk, hardcore, and initially for the purists.
