Jill Duggar Reflects on the Heartbreaking Experience of Losing Her First Baby Girl to Stillbirth
Jill Duggar pays tribute to her beloved baby girl during a difficult time.
Almost a year after the tragic stillbirth of their newborn daughter, Isla Marie Dillard, former star of 19 Kids and Counting, shared her emotional journey and the sorrowful events that preceded the delivery. Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, have been navigating through profound grief as they honor the memory of their daughter.
“On this morning last year, we were preparing for the arrival of our daughter, having just learned days earlier that she had gone to be with Jesus in heaven,” Jill expressed in her heartfelt Instagram post on March 19. “While Derick’s mother looked after our boys, my mom drove us to the hospital, where a few of my sisters and a close friend met us to provide support during this incredibly challenging moment.”
“We are deeply thankful for all those who were not in the pictures but who showered us with love, prayers, and support,” she continued. “Their presence and encouragement have been invaluable as we traverse this path of grief that no parent wishes to experience.”
Along with her poignant message, the 33-year-old mother of three—who shares sons Israel, 9, Samuel, 7, and Frederick, 2, with Derick—shared touching images from the day, including a moment captured of her in a hospital gown alongside her husband of ten years, and a glimpse of the delicate pink outfit they lovingly prepared for Isla.
