Josh Peck has provided critical insights into his decision regarding the absence of the “Drake & Josh” cast from his wedding ceremony back in 2017. He emphasizes that this choice is not rooted in any lingering animosity or a distant relationship with his co-star Drake Bell. Instead, it reflects a more profound personal journey and understanding of his past connections with the show.
Recently, Drake joined Josh for a two-part reunion on his “Good Guys” podcast where they delved into their past experiences. In the release on Thursday, Josh openly reflected on his desire to completely “move on” from the show, stating that he felt the series had become unrepresentative of his current self and aspirations.

At the age of 30, Josh Peck tied the knot with Paige O’Brien, but now at 38, he reflects on how he has matured and realizes that he would have extended invitations to many more individuals, including Drake and their co-star Miranda Cosgrove, who portrayed their mischievous little sister on the beloved series.
Interestingly, Josh revealed that the only cast member from the show who attended his wedding was Dan Schneider, humorously attributing this to the fact that his mother was friends with Schneider’s wife, showcasing a lighthearted connection amidst the complexities of their past.
Josh also speculates that he and Drake were living in different realities during the time of his wedding. He explains that while Drake seemed to be in a mindset where their relationship could have been reconciled, he was stuck in the past, reflecting on their history when things were not positive between them, which contributed to the emotional distance.
It’s noteworthy that Drake publicly criticized Josh through tweets that have since been deleted upon learning about his wedding, indicating the tumultuous nature of their relationship and the emotions involved in their past interactions.
In a 2022 episode of “BFFs with Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards,” Josh addressed the ongoing drama surrounding his relationship with Drake. He asserted that they were “not really” friends and hadn’t maintained contact since the conclusion of the Nickelodeon series in 2007. He claimed that Drake had sent him a text filled with expletives the night of his wedding, which he described as a sign of Drake's delusional mindset at the time.
Throughout the “Good Guys” podcast, Josh and Drake reflected on their past, expressing a mutual desire to have met up more frequently after the show concluded. Josh even noted that they “should have been closer,” highlighting a longing for a deeper friendship that could have developed.
It appears that Josh and Drake are now working on mending their relationship and catching up on lost time, anticipating many heartfelt “Hug, me brother!” moments in the future as they navigate their renewed friendship.
