Almost five years after he bravely had a cancerous mole removed from his head, Julian Lennon, the only son of the iconic The Beatles member John Lennon and his former wife Cynthia Lennon, has revealed that he faced another health scare. He recently underwent emergency surgery to remove a second cancerous mole. This news serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle with skin cancer that many individuals face, highlighting the importance of regular dermatological check-ups and awareness.

“Prior to my trip to New York from Los Angeles for my scheduled appearances on Good Morning America, Sirius XM, iHeart Radio, and my Q&A book signing event at My Fotografiska, I visited my trusted dermatologist, as I regularly do when I’m in LA,” Julian shared on X on December 18. “Dr. Tess was the one who initially detected and operated on my mole, which turned out to be skin cancer, ultimately saving my life…”

He went on to explain the urgency of his situation: “I received a prompt message from Dr. Tess, urging me to return to Los Angeles immediately, as there were two concerning areas on my skin—my shoulder and forearm. One of these was identified as melanoma, which required prompt surgical intervention.” This emphasizes the critical nature of timely medical responses in potentially life-threatening scenarios.

At 61 years old, Julian, who recently made appearances on various talk shows to promote his new photography book, acted quickly, returning to Los Angeles to undergo the necessary procedure. His proactive approach serves as an inspiration to others to prioritize their health and seek immediate help when faced with alarming symptoms.
