Few actors have captivated audiences quite like Ke Huy Quan. His inspiring journey from a beloved child actor to a renowned fight choreographer behind many iconic action scenes demonstrates his resilience. Love Hurts follows Marvin Gabler, played by Quan, a successful realtor whose violent history resurfaces dramatically. COLLIDER: We at Collider are enormous fans of your work. Congratulations on your outstanding performance in the film!

QUAN: Thank you very much.

Since we have some extra time, I?d love to ask a few more questions. First, where do you keep your Oscar?

QUAN: [Laughs] After I received it, it stayed in my home office. However, I recently donated it to the Academy Museum, where it’s currently on display. I encourage everyone to visit and check it out alongside other wonderful cinematic memorabilia.

Is it still surreal for you to say “Oscar-winning?”

QUAN: I completely understand what you mean. There are times when I still pinch myself, and I ask my wife, ?Did this really happen?? Especially when I wake up in the morning, I question if it was just a dream.

It certainly wasn’t a dream. Watching you on television during the ceremony was incredible. Are you now a voting member of the Academy? Did you have a favorite film of 2024 that you can share?

QUAN: I am proudly a member of the Academy now. I?m thrilled to be a part of it. All the films released in 2024 are remarkable. While I have favorites, I prefer not to disclose them to remain fair to other films. Having gone through awards season with Everything Everywhere All At Once, I now view awards season through a different lens, which allows me to appreciate everyone’s hard work, as it is no easy feat. It was also a lot of fun, and I?m grateful for the experience. For years, I was just a fan, sitting in the audience and watching everything unfold on television. Being part of it, walking the red carpet with so many talented individuals, has left me with an extensive collection of selfies!

Speaking of your selfies, I noticed you with many amazing personalities. Do you have a favorite selfie or a top three?

QUAN: Honestly, every selfie I took is special because I admire those individuals. When I see them in person, my excitement overwhelms me, and I want to express my admiration. It’s tough to pick a favorite, but reuniting with my Indiana Jones family was particularly special. Meeting Martin Scorsese, whom I?ve admired for years, was also an unforgettable moment.

And for him to recognize you must be surreal.

QUAN: Yes, it astonishes me to this day when I approach these legends and they know who I am. Another memorable encounter was with Demi Moore at the Golden Globes while presenting with Ariana DeBose. I first met her during Everything Everywhere All At Once, and seeing her again was wonderful?she’s genuinely nice and cool.

I thoroughly enjoyed Loki Season 2, and I wanted to know your thoughts on the finale, especially with the stunning visual effects and the perfect conclusion to the season.

QUAN: I vividly recall receiving the call from Kevin Feige about my role as Ouroborus. I was ecstatic because I adore that universe. I was a huge fan of Season 1, so being on set with Tom [Hiddleston] and Owen [Wilson] was a dream come true. It was a fantastic experience. Surprisingly, I anticipated a lot of green screen work, but much of it turned out to be practical?except for the Temporal Loom.

What? You’re telling me that wasn’t real? I’m a bit disappointed.
