Kody Brown Alienated From 95% of His Children in Sister Wives

Janelle Raises Concerns About Kody’s Financial Management of the Family Assets

Expressing frustration over the family’s ongoing struggle to pay off the Coyote Pass property, Janelle openly questioned Kody’s financial priorities. She pointed out that while he claimed to be burdened with “all these other debts,” she observed him acquiring various assets such as trailers and decorative items for their home. “I see all the art on their walls,” she remarked, referring specifically to Robyn and Kody’s residence. “I see all these things. And that’s fine; I have money and I’ve spent it on things, too.” In response, Kody stated that a significant portion of his finances was allocated to purchasing vehicles—claiming he had “basically a fleet”—and ensuring insurance coverage for their children.

Despite her lack of understanding regarding the financial dynamics between Kody and Robyn, Janelle admitted, “I used to always be surprised at how nice her backyard was. It was completely finished. And there was always, like, stuff at her house. And I was like, ‘Wow. Huh.'” This acknowledgment highlights her growing concerns over their spending habits and the disparity between their financial situations. It suggests that Janelle is becoming increasingly aware of the financial decisions being made within the family, prompting her to question the overall management of their collective resources.

Ultimately, Janelle expressed her feelings of neglect, stating, “He doesn’t prioritize what I need or what I want.” This ongoing issue became a significant source of frustration for her. “I think after a while, I began to see it, and my kids were getting very angry about it, like my adult children. Like, ‘What the hell, Mom?'” This reveals the emotional impact of financial decisions on her family dynamics, indicating that the lack of attention to her needs has led to tension and conflict among family members.

In contrast, Robyn shared her perspective on budgeting, emphasizing her cautious approach to finances following her previous marriage’s dissolution. “I used to be not so great with money,” she reflected during the episode aired on Sept. 22. “When I was young, I had hard knocks, and then I learned during my divorce really how to budget myself very, very well.” She further noted that her sister wives might have had different financial priorities, stating, “You just must have had a different priority of where your money was going to go than I did, that’s all.” This highlights the differing financial philosophies within the family, underlining the complexities of managing shared resources.
