Jaime King is taking proactive steps to clarify her recent legal challenges, addressing the situation head-on.

The Sin City actress has publicly responded regarding a lawsuit initiated by her former landlord in January, which claimed that she owed approximately $42,580 in overdue rent payments. This legal action has garnered significant media attention, and King’s response reflects her desire to move forward.

“The situation with my landlord was resolved privately,” King shared with Us Weekly on March 24. “It’s disappointing—but not surprising—to see someone try to exploit this moment for attention. I am currently focused on what matters most: my children.” Her statement indicates her commitment to prioritizing her family amidst the ongoing challenges.

King is the mother of two sons, James, 12, and Leo, 10, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kyle Newman. In a recent ruling, a California judge mandated that the 45-year-old actress must complete a six-month rehabilitation program, which necessitates weekly testing and aftercare, alongside a 26-week parenting program as part of a new custody arrangement with their father.

Newman, who was married to King for 13 years before their divorce in 2020, has been granted sole primary custody of the children while King fulfills these court-mandated requirements. According to court documents obtained by E! News, King will only have supervised visitation rights with her children three times a week, emphasizing the seriousness of her current situation.
